Are you looking for an engaging way for your upper elementary students to practice using context clues? This cooperative reading activity focuses on using context clues with the added bonus of allowing students to practice reading fluency!
Students begin by reading the partner play script about a teacher who injures herself while on a bicycle ride with her fiance.
When students finish reading the script, they can work with their partner to complete the context clues worksheet. Students are asked to define six underlined words in the script. Words include hapless, cajoled, prone, hassock, elevated, and enervated.
This resource is available in multiple formats. Each teacher gets to choose the format that best meets his/her students' needs. You will choose between the printable script and the paperless script that is compatible with Google Slides. If you choose the printable option, you will have access to version with color clip art and blackline clip art. This script is exactly two pages, making it easy to print them back-to-back on a single page.
