Music has been a part of weddings for as long as people have been exchanging wedding vows. In ancient times, you would enjoy the sounds of a harp, Barbton, Lyra, Wiegenklthara, and Wincelharfe. Although the types of instruments used in weddings have changed, the result is the same ñ an elegant and romantic ambiance.

Without doubt, a wedding would not be the same without some type of music. Even a small wedding can benefit from a Celine Dion or Frank Sinatra CD playing softly in the background. For larger weddings, you would typically have music playing while the guests are being seated. Then, there is the wedding march, which is the time when the bride enters and makes her way down the aisle.

Generally, the couple will choose to have a song played or a vocalist sing a song while lighting the Unity Candle or after the reading. Finally, once the couple has been announced husband and wife, the recessional begins, which includes music playing as the couple makes their way toward the back of the church.

Then when you reach the reception, music is generally playing there as well. For many receptions, the couple will have chosen a band or DJ to create an atmosphere for dancing. Once the bride and groom have their first dance as a married couple, other family members and individuals in the wedding party will take the dance floor. Once they have had their special dance, the rest of the guests are invited to dance and enjoy the music. When it comes to weddings, music can make the occasion wonderful and special.

Hire a few musicians to play chamber music

When planning your own wedding, you might consider having a flautist and guitarist seated at the front of the church but off to one side, playing soft music together while all the guests are being seated. This instrument combination is beautiful, relaxing, and creates a very soft and romantic atmosphere.
